Bonjour! Hello! I'm Miri, a software developer originally from Canada, now thriving in the vibrant landscape of South Africa and my journey into the world of software development has been nothing short of exhilarating.

I began my professional life soaring through the skies as a flight attendant, where I enjoyed exploring new horizons and serving passengers with a smile. However, my curiosity for technology and the rapidly evolving digital world drew me towards a new adventure — coding.

My transformative journey into software development began when I joined WeThinkCode_, a unique tech academy where I plunged into the depths of programming with no prior experience. This intensive two-year program was both challenging and rewarding, laying a strong foundation in coding and software design patterns.

Upon graduating, I had the incredible opportunity to intern at Platform45, a company I have proudly been with since 2018. Here, I've honed my skills across a diverse array of projects, working with technologies such as Webflow, Ruby on Rails, HTML, SASS, TailwindCSS, JavaScript, and React. My passion lies in crafting engaging and user-friendly digital experiences, a pursuit I continue with unwavering enthusiasm.

Beyond my professional endeavours, I have a passion for music and creativity. Music is my sanctuary; you'll often find me on Smule, singing or strumming my ukulele, or curating playlists on Spotify. My musical tastes span from the nostalgic intensity of nu-metal and post-hardcore/metalcore to the soothing rhythms of chillstep and ambient house music. Whether I'm creating melodies or immersing myself in them, music is my constant companion.

When I'm not immersed in the digital realm, I enjoy assembling LEGO sets, particularly from the Botanical Collection, which features beautiful plants and flowers. My love for the natural world also extends to my home, where I nurture a collection of vibrant indoor plants.
